The technician is responsible for isolating PV systems, fault-finding, identifying deficiencies, analyzing information, and performing repairs, including the removal and replacement of components. Technicians may be employed at photovoltaic farms or standalone installations, working to ensure optimal system functionality

This qualification prepares learners for employment in solar PV farms or with companies that install and maintain solar PV systems, and it also supports entrepreneurial ambitions in this growing field, contributing to employment creation. A (PV) Service Technician performs maintenance—both preventative and corrective—on PV systems, adhering to regulations and  standards.
