Skills Development weighs in at a whopping 20 points of the scorecard and you could even potentially add 5 more points in this area.

Learnerships – The Way Forward for your Scorecard

Learnerships is a part of the National Skills Development strategy and the perfect choice for companies looking to improve this B-BBEE scorecard. Because of this, the government has decided to legislate that companies have to do learnerships to empower human resources and ensure that employees are equipped to do their jobs more effectively. To achieve this, it was decided that 6% of a company’s annual payroll is to be spent on learnerships.

What are Learnerships?

Learnerships are nationally accredited one-year programs combining both classroom training and practical, hands-on workplace experience. There are two different types of learnerships. One is for unemployed persons and the other is for persons already employed in companies.
